We haven't discussed our next one yet but we're always open to suggestions

We usually try to get one last one in before the cold weather settles in for a lot of folks...and then the next one is at the start of Spring

There was the suggestion of doing a Pleione Project -
Pleione
but I'm afraid growing these cool growing orchids may not be suitable for many

Yeah I think that there might be a problem I don't get winters so low or summers or any time of the year for that matter It's always sticky and warm here. So I'm afraind I won't be able to be part of this project or I could just stick it in the fridge like someone said

Pleione won't do for a project because of the temp range it needs.

As in all projects, our main criteria is that it be an Intermediate (temperature) grower and that the size be kept on the small/compact end of the spectrum.

Gwen (gmdiaz), Shannen (shakkai) and Dorothy came up with our most recent project/contest, the Neos, while we were still working in the Sederia japonica project...kudos to them for coming up with the idea and for all the work they did.

I love the idea of our members making suggestions...as long as we keep it do-able (I know that's not really a word ) for anybody who wants to participate, we're open to suggestions from our members.

I suggest taking a look through the past projects to get an idea of what we've done and the basic criteria...then let's start hearing some suggestions for our next project...

When should we schedule it for?

Isn't there the mystery plant project starting in August?? As for the normal projects, it would be nice to not be as strict concerning the size of the plants. In the last project there were some nice plants discarded just because they were a few inches too high. They were still smallish plants, just not small enough! I'm also saying this because in the spring project we were scarily efficient and came up with nearly every single orchid that fit the criteria and was available to everyone.
Enough said for now, we have plenty of time to discuss the next project!!

Camille...thanks for paying attention because I had forgotten all about that one!

I guess we should start fine-tuning those plans...August is right around the corner!

I am very curious about that project... however, and unfortunately, I will not be able to join this one
The reason: I have decided to start my two own "private" project, which will take lots of time (and am affraid that also money ):
  1. (most of the time) I have planned to build a "large" orchids vivarium (47X24x43 inches LxWxH) starting from scratch... This is planned to start becoming real once I come back to Switzerland in September... and will keep me busy for a while setting it up and choosing the appropiate plants for it once finished - nothing decided yet, but it will be most probably a warm vivarium). wish me
  2. (most of the money) I will be out from end of July to beginning of September learning French in Paris
However, I will closely follow the OB project, as it really sounds like lots of fun (as always with OB projects )
