It has been confirmed by Mr. Kao from C.H. Orchids, that the sedirea japonica 4N I bought from them comes from Korea and is the same plant as Sedirea japonica 'Daruma'

so, now we know where the round leaves come from: 4N

to be honest, I have no clue.... I am just waiting (impatiently waiting ) for it to start opening the flowers... it would be 5 or 6 of them in a spike which is already more than twice the size of the plant...

Well I have not posted in a while since I have been so busy with cello stuff and working... I am sad to say that my Sedirea has dropped its buds. I expected this from traveling, I suppose, and it just means my project shall begin now! All of my plants look weary from the long winter (as am I!), and we're all looking forward to moving to a nice summer location come the end of this month! I am premiering two new pieces of music this week, and as a suprise, Rich brought me a NOID Phal from the local ghetto grocery store today. I am thinking I will try to put the Sedirea in a pot from its mount, as it doesn't appear to be clinging alot to the piece of wood. Aside from that, it is growing a new leaf already, and seems completely happy, except for the lost buds. How is going for everybody else????

Hi Everyone! I forgot to post a picture of my little Sedirea, so here it is! I must admit I forgot because I got so excited over the Neo project

And Sue.....I love that huge list of orchids you are getting from Oakhill! You deserve it! And we want lots of

Ooops...I forgot to mention it has a spike with two buds forming and another spike starting to form....yippee!
