Default Zygopetalum intermedium

This is a baby Zygo I was given as a small seedling two years ago, flowering now for the first time. I have another Zygo intermedium, also in flower, but of a very lighter coloration than this one.

I love the colors of this zygo. Very striking! I need to get a zygo in the near future. Thanks for sharing!

Zygos are cool .. I love that lip coloration in contrast to the petal and sepal dark tones
Another beauty from Mauro

Love it, Mauro. Does it smell as pretty as it looks?

Looks beautiful.

Does it have a fragrance? If it does, how strong is it? I know that there is much variation not only in coloring but also in fragrance with this genus. Some plants have a stronger scent than others.

Yes, Kim, it has a nice perfume. Every time I pass by them (two are in flower) I can perfectly smell their perfume without the need of getting closer.

Carl, I’d say that the perfume has an intermediate intensity, but this can vary from plant to plant. For example, I noticed that the lighter colored one I also have in bloom here seems to be more intense than the darker one.
