Looks like not 1 but 2 new buds.. this is easily my favorite orchid! I dropped it a few weeks back and it broke in 2 so now I'll have blooms on both plants!

Doncha just hate it when one takes a trip ? I've had that happen a few times. I have a way of knocking one off the shelf when I'm picking them up to water them. Ugh, bark all over the floor

That happens to me ALL the time, luckily they are hardy!

This baby just wants to bloom and bloom! The first pic is of the new bud which is on the piece that snapped off when I dropped it. The second pic shows the 2 buds that bloomed just recently (pics of the buds in my last post) on the original part of the plant. I picked this up at Jim Marlow's open house this spring, think I spent maybe $15 for it...have to say it's probably the best 15 bucks I ever spent! Besides being in bloom when I got it, it's given me an additional 5 flowers since and I was under the impression that because I bought it in bloom that I wouldn't see any more flowers until spring and then only if I was lucky lol

Edited to add: The 2 original blooms which opened around 8/4, although fading a bit are still hanging in there and still smell delicious

Thanks Rosie The last one is just starting to open now, the first 2 dropped a few days ago but still have 2 blooms going strong. How are you growing yours? Mine are in an east facing picture window and I keep the pot sitting in a dish of water.

Mine is mounted and get's high light. Direct Sun in summer (though it's UK summer so...) and as bright as possible in winter while not letting it freeze.
