I have never seen one ( any zygo ) mounted, I am not sure if the roots will adhere to the mount. However, since it is a smaller-sized zygo hybrid, no harm in trying. You will obviously have to make sure it is watered regularly. The majority genetic species background are listed in IOSPE as epiphytic.

By all means mount it. Provided you have the culture down pat and at least 50% humidity at all times....I let it dry in the media mix before watering so maybe if mounted you need to water more.

Personally, I wouldn't mount a zygo. I have my current one in a net pot with expanded clay pellets. It would dry out too quickly in my conditions if it was mounted. However, if you are growing in a terrarium, that is a different story as the roots wouldn't dry out as quickly so having the zygo on a mount wouldn't be as much of a pain. If you are growing under lights, I definitely would not mount it. I have to water many of my mounts twice a day and these orchids like being on the dry side.
