Got this one just because I was ordering multiple other orchids at that time and it was not costing me extra shipping. Not crazy about the color, but it is still nice plant:-) It opened today.

this is one of my favourites. It will be interesting to see how it does in Miami as mine doesn't like temps consistently in the 80's......

I specifically got this plant from Florida grower, and ask him for exact growing conditions, he has it in Aussie Gold, lot of light, filtered, outside the whole year around. So it should do hopefully real good, I would not buy the plant if it was not from local Florida nursery:-)

maybe the overnight temp drops help. But Winter temps in 40s/50s ?
Makes me think I should move mine outdoors for a few weeks. It may just be hardier than I think.

We hardly have days with night drops to 50 and under, and it lasts only few days normally anyway, if that. I leave absolutely all my orchid outside, we are on the 5th floor, so it never gets so cold at my balcony as it gets on the ground level.

Beautiful flower!
I have the Zygonisia Blue Bird on my past thread.
'Blue Water Sailing' is tinged a bit of green on the petals.
I grow my plant outside on the warmer months and indoors in winter on the south facing window. High humidity and warm temps; my plant never get to be below 60F

Thanks Bud, it is for sure interesting color, I did expect something else, I guess:-) But as I said, gorgeous orchid no matter what, and I am always great full for ANY that decides to bloom at my balcony:-) I guess we have perfect conditions. I have it outside, filtered light, it is humid every day:-)

That's exactly how I justify ordering multiple plants. In the long run you save$:bananaslide :

Don't we ALL have some kind of "crazy excuse" to our dear halves, families, friends and mostly to OURSELVES for our addiction??? Love them and used them all, "They had FREE SHIPPING today", or "There was promo code now", "They combined my shipping with no extra cost", "They had combo offer", I love to use "The more I order the less it costs me on shipping per each plant!": evil:
