Default Maxillaria pygmaea?

I bought a Maxillaria pygmaea from the speaker at my last orchid meeting. Its a cute little plant mounted on piece of tree fern and apparetly has yellow flowers. The problem is i checked orchidspecies.com and did a google search and couldn't find any info. has anybody heard of this species? I will try to post some pictures later
thanks
Karl

Maxillaria cogniauxiana var. pygmaea
or
Maxillaria heterophylla var. pygmaea

both are sinonyms;
I just don't know which one is current....since names can always change any moment

I don't think that's what it is bud. The pseudobulbs are clumping rather than growing up vertically. Here are some pics

the currently accepted name for Maxillaria pygmaea is Christensonella paranaensis. Judging by the shape and coloration of the pseudobulbs, I'd say it's more likely that your plant is a different Christensonella species, possibly neowiedii.

You need to call or email your guest 'speaker' where you bought your plant ....that is the best way to address all the questions you have.
