Maxillaria ID please!
Default Maxillaria ID please!

I bought this last year, it grows like a weed. Had about 12 new PB fully develop in the last 10 months and another 20 PB are sprouting now. It bloomed twice in October, off semi mature PB's, after spending the summer out side in morning sun and part afternoon sun. Been back in the heated GH since mid Sept. right under double T8's, most leaves are receiving 1500fc because it's a 1/2 inch under the light. Winter night temps at 53-55f and days 68-75f.
Any thoughts on triggering more blooms? Or care in general?

Not sure what it is...

Looked up Max attenuata and Max rufescens, but they don't match.

I suggest looking through Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia.

Comparing your plant between Max cucullata and Max meleagris, I'm thinking your plant is Max meleagris.

I'm going by how the flowers on your plant has its sepals and petals spread out like a starfish, which is how Max meleagris is usually depicted.

All the photos of Max cucullata show how the petals and sepals are more closed, forming an overall triangular shape.

Of course you can always try to contact a botanical garden and see if they can direct you to someone who can properly ID the plant for you.

On a separate note, if you've grown this for a while already, and you can get this guy to flower, you've done well. Wait until next year, it may start putting out more flowers.
