Default Bifrenaria tetragona

Bifr tetragona is a big plant for the genus, and produces several spikes of cup-shaped flowers; the smell, however, is very unpleasant, resembling a mixture of garlic with something metalic, and a touch of dead rat!

Those blooms are amazing.......with just a "touch of dead rat", something for everyone's collection!

What a extraordinary plant. Your second photo overview reminds me of dessert cups with ice cream in them. Very unusual. To bad it does not smell better.

Amazing. What an interesting and unusual bloom!

Under what conditions do you grow this beauty?

Great growing.

Great looking blooms and plant, Frederico. Do you know what the pollinator is? I'm curious to know what insect would find that combination of aromas enticing. :-)

Hello friends! I grow this plant on the very edge of the nursery, where it receives direct sunlight most of the day and also rain; it is easy to grow in my weather conditions. No idea what its true pollinator, but I have found flesh flies around it - back in their habitat the pollinator is likely to be a fly!
