Default Bifrenaria harrisoniae

Old reliable! This year has 8 flowers but not all visable in the pic.Ignore the old hand holding the pot The lips of these flowers are hinged & very hairy so can drop when a bee lands on it to leave itself wide open for pollination.

Congrats! Your Bifr harrisoniae var. semi-alba looks very happy! There are several Bifr harrisoniae varieties, all from Brazil southeast. Yours has an unusual long spike to harrisoniae, resembles thyrianthina spikes (related species), but is for sure harrisoniae due small spur (thyrianthina has a extra-long spur). Take a look in my gallery, I posted Bifr harrisoniae type, alba and Bifr. tyrianthina (type) pics!

Very pretty! I love the colours and its shape. That lip sounds very cool....
