An update. My lepidota went into the trash bin. We just never could get to be friends. The rodrigueziana... Well, it's lost almost all the "big" leaves it originally started with. Lots of new leaves coming up, but smaller. I'll try to load a picture later today.

It's still in the original six inch net pot from Andy's. I don't know what medium is in the net pot as it was totally covered in moss. Now mostly dead moss because I can't keep the humidity as high as Andy's is. But I did note either a fungal or bacteria set up on underside of some of the older leaves... now gone. The new leaves don't appear to have that problem.

I'm thinking of moving it over to semi-hydro, but kind of afraid to dig down into whatever it's potted in. Yep, I need to take a picture. I'll do so, then get back with ya! It's just not "flourishing" the way I want it to. Something's awry in my care. Okay... must.get.pictures.

My rodrigueziana was doing well until the last heat wave. Electricity bills have been crazy high here so... I decided to sweat through it without any AC. And... 75% of it turned brown. Sigh.

Temps have gone down here and I see new growths starting now.

As long as the temperatures were cool to moderate (60-75oF), mine seemed happy in sphag, submerged in water at all times. I had similar issues with a couple of other cooler growing orchids. These are doing better when I took it to work (Free AC, hallelujah). Unfortuntely M. rodrigueziana is a bit too large for my office...
