Just wanted to share my aromatica with OB. This year is going to be a good one!

3 new growths coming in. I think there were 4, but I might have killed one with some overzealous pruning a few weeks ago...

Nice! It's going to be spectacular I don't expect to see mine until around June - I will get to enjoy yours sooner.

Yah, it's a nice "spicy" aroma, with a good amount of cinnamon in the background.

I'll give an updated description of the smell when it's in full bloom

Quick update, a few blooms have come out where I can smell them. I think the scent is strongest 11am-1pm. Some fragrance notes:
  • Strongest scent is honey. They don't call it the "sweet scented lycaste" for nothing
  • The second strongest note is something kinda spicy (not cinnamon though). Vagueley reminiscent of robitussin / cough syrup.

Ta daaaaaaa!

Oh an update on the "spicy" part of the aroma: it smells like cloves. So I think I'd say the fragrance profile is about 70% honey, 23% cloves, 2% unidentified.

I think this guy is only a few years away from being a true "specimen" sized plant!
