So I'm not an AOS member, but would it be worth it to try to get an AOS award for this guy? Do they award species?

Aaaaaanndd they're gone! 2 weeks lol. See you next year, flowers!

I'll probably post some more pics to the thread showing growth. Also still debating whether or not to "divide" it, in order to remove the oldest bulbs and make the plant more manageable. Still don't know the best time for this -- it doesn't look like the new growth has put out roots yet.

And for the record, NOW is when I'm starting to see new root growth. Good thing I didn't divide several months ago when I got the itch

They do award species. Look up the AOS award registry and see what Lycaste aromaticas have been awarded in the past. Decide if your plant is at least as good as those awarded plants. I don't know whether AOS membership is required. I find it well worth the money.
