Some photos of the red blush and some fresh growing root tips!

The net contraption looks a silly but it helps me keep the plant body dry when I soak the roots. There aren't enough roots to stabilize the seedlings. When the roots are more established I will cut the supports. The pink ties are flexible so the seedlings aren't strangled. It just looks bad. I am making sure no moisture touches the leaves or stem.

I didn't net up the ailing one since I want to monitor it more closely.

I also included a photo of what I cut off. There's no way that's healthy.

The Vanda in the third photo has another leaf that was damaged. It's the central most one. It will recover. Don't worry about it too much. I've had this kind of stuff happen before. As long as there are a few leaves and lots of roots, it will bounce back. It will either grow a new leaf from the center or it will create an offshoot from the side.

Thank you for the encouragement! They seem to be doing pretty well! They're all harnessed up in net pots now and they seem to like the stability a lot. I should introduce them!

1. Tessellata x Luzonica - The smallest and most fragile with thin delicate but long roots. She has the reddish pigment coming out on her two newest leaves. No growing root tips to speak of but she drinks water greedily.

2. Mikasa Pink - Sturdy but i notice she has small tiny bumps on the underside of her leaves and some scarring on the top that indicate spider mites. I've wiped her down with alcohol and will do so again on Tuesday. I also ordered some neem oil. The great news is that today i noticed shes growing a root out!. It's a bulbous shiny tip coming out from under a leaf so i didnt see it until today!

3. Vasco. Mem. Clem Crosbie x Mimi Palmer - Has an active root tip that is growing day by day. The most hardy of the bunch with strong strap type leaves. There are also two small bumps coming out slowly on either side of her stem! One of them...seems to be traveling a bit along the stem and not really coming out but i'm sure it'll find its way.

4. Madame Rattana - Doing very well. Sturdy from the beginning with a growing root tip and a new root budding out from under a leaf. (also just noticed root bulge today since it takes a while for the tip to get big enough to show up.

5. Fuch's Delight - The weakest one that came with clipped leaves and lost a leaf during transit. I also eventually removed the clipped leaf entirely since the base of it was dying and turning brown. Seems happy right now. I see a new leaf peaking out in the crown even with all the stress of the past two weeks.

So yeah i'm very happy that they're doing well. I might even be able to raise all five!
