While you may be able to keep her sanity, the money bit is not so certain. As you get better at growing orchids you want more of them, and then can't stop at 'just one more', and I think a lot of people here can tell you that this hobby is good at sucking money out of your wallet. You may end up flinging money at people shouting 'just take my money and give me orchids!' I bought 6 Neofinetia falcata last fall (a small Japanese orchid with many varieties, that people go nuts over) telling myself that I had enough with those. My local supplier of these just got new plants in, and now I can't resist getting a few more... It's endless!
