Orchids limited is only 25mins from me so I try not to go there too often.... but it is a wonderful place for the orchid lover. I was gifted 2 phrags and a phaius for Christmas from the store and that’s when my love for orchids started. I was there few weeks ago to have an orchid repotted and bought a vanda :-/

I actually had to order New Zealand moss from amazon instead of going there bc now they recognize me from going there too often.... how often do you visit the store?

Yeah, it is about the same for me. I am becoming recognized there. The advantage is they have begun allowing me to explore the upper greenhouses for hidden treasures. I grow in terrariums of late, a couple weeks ago I snared an Aerangis hildebrantii

They are nice and very helpful! What do you grow randy? And how long have you been growing orchids?

I started out with the standard Phal noids. My wife works at a assisted living facility, it seems that family often bring in orchids to brighten up residents. They enjoy them until the plants begin to decline. She began bringing them home, I would remove the "pots of death". I now have about 20 of the evil plants and they keep coming

Last winter, My brother had a scare with cancer and I went to Iowa to care for him. He is/was an ardent herp nut, had about 20 tanks of various sizes full of lizards, tortoises, and turtles. I had to clear out the collection leaving about 20 empty tanks. I already had the orchid bug, so I requisitioned 5 exoterras of varying sizes and am trying to have a go at terrarium growing of mostly Malagasy orchids. I think am doing best with Aerangis, Bulbos, and a silly little Dendrobium cucerimum. Day Geckos are my insect control
