Hello from Texas!
Default Hello from Texas!

Hey! I have been lurking on this forum for a while, and just wanted to introduce myself. I am pretty new to Orchid growing, but as soon as I figured out how NOT to kill them, I started accumulating more and more! Right now I am mainly into Phals (boring, I know) but I want to branch out into other species soon. I look forward to participating and contributing to this board

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

Also look for an orchid society near you. You will meet a lot of friendly, informative people who can teach you about local conditions.

Welcome to Orchidboard!

There's nothing wrong with having Phals! You don't even need to branch into other genera to try something else, there's already so much variation in the Phal genus! I don't get many complex hybrid Phals anymore, but do have lots of Phal species hybrids made up of only a few species.

Welcome to the board. I'm like Camille, I don't think Phals are boring. Just take a look at some of the new crosses on the net.
