Default Growing near Raliegh

hey all-

Long time lurker, first time posting. I've been growing orchids for about 10 years now. Started when I was in high school and grew mostly under lights at my parents house. College happened, and I now live on my own and have upgraded a bit in terms of plants and equipment.

Grow under some big lights during the winter and orchids spend their summers outside on a balcony. Grow a good mix of things- compact/mini cattleyas, dendrobiums, some catasetinae, and phalaenopsis that I've accumulated over the years.

Looking forward to interacting with you all.

Welcome to the OB!

I'm from NC, though now in Georgia. Frankly, I wish I could move back to NC. My older daughter is up in Durham, but used to be in Raleigh (home of the Videri Chocolate Factory!), and I attended grad school in Durham (NOT at the evil academy with a name that rhymes with puke). There's a strong orchid society up where you are, the Triangle Orchid Society.

Welcome to the Board! I admire and envy people like you, who had the good sense to get involved in this wonderful hobby at such a young age!
