Hello all,

Dropping in to introduce myself as I just joined the ol' fora here. I've been collecting orchids for several years now, and the obsession started with a nice little phal that I picked up from Whole Foods 5 years ago. That little guy is hanging around, along with his keiki, and a bunch of new friends I have accumulated over the years.

I've got ~10 phals, 1 paph, 2 catts, a psychopsis, a milt (more on that later), and an oncidium.

I won't claim that I've had much luck with growing orchids, but I haven't outright killed any either. Most of my plants haven't flowered since I acquired them, and they've all made attempts with new sheaths, bulbs, etc., but things just haven't been right for them. I'm hoping that the collective knowledge will break that rut for me!

Take care and look forward to discussing with all of you soon.

-Alex

Welcome to OB. You will get lots of help here. Check out the beginners section on the forums which has sections on light, water and fertilizer.
I'm been a member since 2009 though I haven't been very active recently. There are some great people on this board.

Thanks for the kind welcome messages, everyone!

Most immediate is how I can save my rapidly dying miltoniopsis. I attempted to post a thread this morning with some photos, but I don't have sufficient privileges yet. Once I get to that point, I'll post up my milt post and pics in the appropriate location.

May I sugest to start a new thread about your miltoniopsis?
One thing everybody will ask you right at start when dealing with growing difficulties are phots and your growing conditions: humidity, temperatures, light source (northern windowsill, southern, etc, lights, etc) so please be sure to include the most info you can.

Will do! I've been posting on the /r/orchids subreddit over at Reddit for a little while now, so I'm used to the usual information requests and standard advice, but I will be certain to include that information this time too!
