I just got a mini Phal (have yet to post pic's here yet) that I'm betting won't like a crap load of light, like it's bigger cousins.

Small but stunning white bloomer.
Less space = more orchids.
Maybe mimi's would be good?

Look up Dendrochilum on the Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia:

Jay's Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia Dendroc

For each species light recommendations are shown. Sometimes the sun symbol conflicts with the text. The symbol is how people tend to cultivate them. I know the one usually sold as D. magnum takes a lot of sun, but there are other species that seem to do fine with a lot less light.

Angraecums, Aeranthes, Aerangis, Lepanthes, Pleurothallis, Haraella are all good choices. The last three will need a terrarium or jar. You could probably grow Neofinetia falcata in an east window.

There are so many that grow in lower light. Andy's Orchids has a search function where you can select the light and whatever other criteria you want and it will spew out a list of orchids.
