Default Hello from San Diego!

Hello Orchid Board! I'm a novice orchid grower in sunny San Diego, my best friend got me started about 2 years ago. I did not think I could find a more rewarding/frustrating hobby than reef keeping, but orchid keeping fits in nicely in there as well .

I am looking forward to learning as part of this community.

Welcome! There's nothing like intermittent reinforcement coupled with punishment, is there?

Sounds like you might get into "planted terrariums" of the sort that are crazy-world class. As difficult as reefs I guess. I have a huge planted tank, but my fish keep eating my aquatic plants, so I am happy I have orchids too! (Oh, but the cat eats those!) Welcom to OB

I had to get another aquarium to move the unsuspected plant eaters into.

Thanks all! I forgot to mention that we also have dart frogs so we have a terrarium but I've never had much luck with orchids in there too wet.
