I know what you mean. Since I got hooked three years ago, my friends have really gotten tired of my obsession and politely listen when I start to ramble on about orchids, then tell me to please shut up when they have had enough. But the one thing they have commented on is how my demeanor has changed since I started growing these amazing plants. I had a reputation for being somewhat excitable and easily angered. Now I am a happy boy and smiling, whistling and singing all the time. Better than Xanax! My wife loves the orchids and loves me more than ever since I have become a lot easier to live with.

Incredible plants that reward us with their beauty and for me a source of calm and peace in a very hectic world.

I also used to be extremely impatient, and now! I can wait for ever for little babies to grow!
I also felt so bad, babbling about orchids all the time to my husband. But then one day he discovered the secret world of miniature orchids and he got hooked too! It's the best feeling ever! It sometimes gets funny, especially when we start to disagree of which orchid to get next - people just stare at us at the shows. And of course all our orchids have names, for easier communication, so imagine standing at a vendor's table saying 'Oh no, this one looks too much like Bob, this one could be Batman's friend!'

Welcome to the Orchid Board! Some one should give you a warning, and since I haven't seen any posts yet, I will warn you!

The longer you stay on this board, you will find your collection quickly growing in number! Your list of plants all have potential for more and different varieties. When someone posts a picture of their plant, and it is not one you own...you will find yourself scouring the Internet to get it.
