Default Hello friends.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been trolling the forums for about a year now, picking up bits of advice, researching purchases, and getting inspired on new ways to grow.

Orchids came to me about 16 months ago in the form of a NOID Phal. from Canadian Tire. I had never put much interest into orchids until I learned they were epiphytes and saw one mounted on a slab of cork. Cool.

So, shortly after my first NOID, I paid a visit to an orchid greenhouse belonging to the fine folks at Cloud's Orchids and bought this stuff:

- Paph. Iantha Stage
- L. purpurata
- Ren. Amayani
- Slc. Tutankhamun 'Pop'

Cool!

I built a little cedar basket for the Vanda, but after 8 or 9 months found it way to troublesome and more of a burden to water without making a mess everywhere, so now I'm trying it in vase culture! Neat.

The L. purpurata is mounted (against all good advice) on a big slab of cork bark.

Anyway. I'll gather up some pictures in the coming days to share with all, but just wanted to say hello and thanks for everyone's interesting and helpful advice and inspiration.

A great place for a recreational orchid enthusiast!
