I'm a new member and pretty much new to orchids. My Mother always had orchids while I was growing up, but unfortunately I was not involved with them at the time. Alter recently visiting with her(out of state), I got the bug to pursue them myself.

So far I have Dgmra. Pluto's Drummer 'Pacific Pink' , Phal. bellina var. coerulea x sib, Renanthera Kalsom 'Red Dragon', Wilsonara 'Pacific perspective', and a few variations of Onc. 'Sharry baby'.

I would be very interested in knowing about any quality orchid nurseries within an easy drive of Tampa, Florida. Any and all advice on caring for these new arrivals is very much appreciated!!
Cheers, Walt

Welcome Walt, I am a neighbor just down the road in Kissimmee. I am also fairly new to orchids and I have found so much info on this board. The search function is terrific. With the help of this board I have been able to keep all my orchids alive and well. Just FYI the American Orchid society is having their fall show in Orlando this Fri. and Sat.

I appreciate the heads up. I will try and see if I can make it Saturday. I've been using the search function quite a bit already. There is a wealth of information here. Really impressed with the friendly helpfulness I've seen in the threads.
Cheers, Walt.

welcome trident, there is a vey reputable orchid grower in tampa his name is Louis delfavero, he has a wide variety of orchidsbut he specializes in species and his plants are great quality and the prices are cheap. He has a great passion for orchis here's his contact information and his nursey address 6601 Gant Rd, Tampa, FL 33625, United States

Or if you are interested in Phalaenopsis species and primary hybrids you could visit marie, a worker at krull smith orchids who sells her plants at oldsmar flea market Race Track Road North Oldsmar, FL 34677 3211 but she only sells on Saturdays but she has great quality and she has a nice personality
Good luck

I didn't know about Krull smith, she does sell orchids at Big Top flea market. Is that right place? Yes I love phal species. I will have to check out that place one day. Hmmm. Thank you for information.

Forgive me! That's different place you mentioned, Dillion123. I will have to check out one day in oldsmar. They do sell orchids at Big Top flea market, too. It's off Folwer rd. They do not carry phal species, thou.

You should plan a trip one day to oldsmar one day and take a look at her plants because she works at krullsmith she gets paid in plants a lot of times so she sells the same quality at half the price.Last time I visited her I picked up 2 phal deliciosas a standard form and a hookeriana form and a bulbuphyllum dearii 'svo' am/AOS all for only 20 bucks
Ps.( she gave me the phal deliciosa var hookeri and for free)
