Welcome to Orchid Board from a fellow Brit.

Cymbidiums in the UK do well outside in the summer. I even have mine (only one the last few years, though bought some more baby ones over the winter) in full sun most of the day. You have to adjust them slowly to that though.

I winter the Cyms in a cool greenhouse (5C-10C) I kept it in the house the first winter I bought it, but it likes the chill to flower again properly.
