Exclamation New here and need some friendly advice :)

Hello everyone I am new to everything there is to know about orchids. I went to a Orchid society meeting with friend and I actually won something....a new hybrid orchid that I have no idea how to care for. I would love some helpful advice on how to care for it. My boyfriend and I have some pretty green thumbs but never tried the orchids out. The tag on my orchid says (Cariga X Tracey Reddaway) 'Sweet Lime' X Lucky Shamrock 'Green Gleen'

I will post a pic of what it looks like soon. Its just nice looking green leaves flowers yet. Any advice would be very helpful

always Sweetlime

Right now she is just a nice green in the kitchen. Im not sure on where exactly to put her in the house, she will freeze outside right now. Do you have any advice on how to properly care for orchids, like when to water and what nutrients benefit them?

Care for orchids varies depending on what kind it is. Some orchids like to be dry, some like to be wet. Some like really bright light and others like to grow in the shade. If you can post a few more times in this thread, the forum should allow you to post a picture of your plant. Then we can tell you roughly what genus it is and that will give us some clues on how to advise you.

Welcome to OrchidBoard! These folks are the kindest, most helpful people I have had the pleasure to spend time with on the Internet.

According to the names you posted, your orchid is a cymbidium. I don't grow cymbidiums but here's a link to the AOS culture sheet for cymbidiums.
