Hello from Connecticut Male
Default Hello from Connecticut

Hello eveyone. I've been keeping aquatic plants for several years now. Recently I have expanded my interests to terrestrial and epiphytic plants as well. I have always thought orchids were interesting and recently purchased two phals from Lowes. They were on clearance so I figured it would be a decent place to start. Once I understand them better and learn to better care for them I would like to expand my collection and obtain some nicer phals and other types of orchids as well. I've been trying to do my research and will continue to do so, I'll be posting more soon though. Of the two phals I bought one wasn't in the best condition and I'm not sure about the other.

WELCOME ABOARD!

Just a few miles from you is a reputable orchid farm: 'Milford orchids' with very friendly staff, along Raton Drive that I visit every summer by taking the Metro North at Grand Central Station that takes me around 90 minutes and then 5 minutes walk to the farm(the advantages of living in a tri-state area)....they sometimes have informative lectures and always serve lunch sandwiches and herb teas even if you didn't buy a thing.....then I take the 5:45 train back to Manhattan.

Thanks everyone. And thanks Bud, that's great to know that I have a good local source for orchids and probably only a 10 minutes drive from my house. I may even check it out later this week.
