Tindo dragged me....
Well, my intro is.... I bought my first orchid in February and I know nothing. I read but mostly I like looking at the pictures....
I have about 25 orchids I think - with only 4 in bloom right now. I bought the ones in bloom and have yet to ever bloom an orchid...
My first post here was looking for a design for a tattoo - any suggestions would be cool
And other than that.... I want more blooming orchids and neat ones and itty bitty ones.... and most of all, I want them to stay alive somehow...
Oh, so I live in NH - where it's too dark, too hot or too cold, too dry and for a short time of year probably just humid enough for them.... lets see how much they like me....

I really like the idea of a phal or catt growing on one of them tropical gnarled trees, with the orchids roots going down the trunk. How about that for a tattoo?

Hey Tindo.... :c)
How bout a pic of what you are thinking of.... I used to think I wanted lots of color, but I think maybe with an orchid, shades of gray and black may be really nice.....
I still want your itty bitty orchid ;c)

Here is the type of tree trunk I was thinking off,
http://tropicallodges.com/JungleBoy/...kytka_tree.jpg
And then I was thinking, you make that tree trunk smaller, zoom in on a crotch of the tree, where you find something like a phal or a catt with one prominent flower, and two or three orchid leaves, and and then crawling down the trunk big thick fleshy roots.
Maybe something like this, but on the tree I describes.

Hi Tikva, welcome. For someone who got their first orchid in Feb and now you are at 25 ~ sounds like a hardcore addiction to me! That is like 6 per month!
Ok so I don't even know you, but.........Randy has a dendrobium mounted in a driftwood branch that looks really neat. How about that? Maybe with a little less driftwood and more plant and flowers showing.
Perhaps not an orchid.....something a little more out there?

Hehe
I don't love Paphs / Slipper orchids as much as others...I like the idea of a simple orchid but not sure which one. I would have to pick one and it might not be my best one...
*wondering if you would pay me in a lifetime of whatever orchids I would love if I got that tattoo....*
