If you look at Rosie's post, you will see a couple of underlined phrases at the bottom left of her post, one of them is on posting photos. I am sure you will be able to solve your problems with the help you get from it!

Hi, "emeraude1484". Welcome to the OB. :)

Cycnodes is an intergeneric hybrid between the genera Cynoches ("Swan Orchids") and Mormodes ("Goblin Orchids").

The abbreviation for the genus name Cycnoches is Cyc.

The abbreviation for the genus name Mormodes is Morm.

The abbreviation for the intergeneric name Cycnodes is Cycd.

The species of plants that are representative of both genera (Cycnoches and Mormodes) have dormancy periods, so expect your Cycnodes to observe one as well. You might want to ask more experienced growers of the Catasetinae sub-tribe about how those dormancy periods play out. While the plant will most likely go deciduous to signal the onset of dormancy, it may not always do so. The roots remain alive during dormancy, but the tendency is for them to not be in active growth. New shoots may also emerge during the onset of dormancy and may trick the grower into believing that it is still in active growth when it isn't, thus increasing the probability of problems with damping out and rot due to watering during dormancy. I have limited experience with Cynoches spp. and Mormodes spp., so I can't really give too much more detailed information about them at the moment.

I will say this...

Although they are not the most difficult orchids to grow, they are not necessarily the easiest either. They're somewhere in the middle in terms of ease of culture.

If you have the full name that would greatly help us in giving you information for the two that came home with you.

There are many types of dendrobiums, ranging from those that keep their leaves year round, to those that go completely dormant during the winter. The care for them range greatly as well.

I would suggest posting about each orchid separately and using the full name in the title. Something along the lines of "How do I care for Bulbophyllum frostii." That would ensure that the maximum number of people see not only your question, but your full orchid name. People who are familiar with it will be more likely to respond.

And by the way, welcome aboard!
