Any suggestions as to how to help the sick orchid you can give me will be appreciated. Another leaf as you can see in one of the pix is turning brown. They look swiverled some what. Roots seem OK to me but you experienced orchid people would know better than I for sure.

Suggestions? Linda

Really difficult to say.

Make sure it's dry before it goes dark (and cooler). Give it plenty of light, water it well. I'm not sure what else might be wrong with it.

It may be worth starting a seperate thread to ask about it, as maybe not everyone is looking in this welcome area.

Default I think my Vanda is dying, please help

My orchid is dying. I posted pix under Skeenski in the Gallery. Will you look at them and see what you might be able to tell me about it's problem. I had it real close to the south window. I thought maybe the leaves were getting burnt. So today I have moved it back from the window a little.

When you soak it for 15 to 30 min. Do you let the water sit so that cholorine is out of the water and then heat some water to warm it up? How do you water it?

Where do you find the fertilizer without UREA in it? I know it needs fertilizer. I have fertilized it once since I got it on 5 Oct. But fertilizer had UREA in it.

No new roots, I checked it for bugs and don't see any. I never spray leaves. Am I supposed too?

I don't want this beautiful orchid to die but all of its leaves are turning yellow now like the one pix shows.

Help Linda

Your vanda looks very normal, a yellow leaf is normal they will drop one from time to time. Some get very bare at the bottom.
Roots look pretty healthy. Just water it as you have been doing, buy fertilizer at home depot or lowes, that says for orchids, fertilizer half strengfth every two weeks. Put the fertilizer in the soak water. Treat it gently you are moving it around quite a bit.
Relax, you are doing fine. It's going to be ok enjoy looking at those twisted and curled roots their beautiful.

I have fertilizer that is 30-10-10 that is for orchids. I will give it half doze tomorrow when I soak it in the morning. All the bottom leaves are turning yellow like in my "Skeenski" gallery pix. The one that was yellow in the pix has fallen off.

I have backed it up from the light by about a foot. The leaves were touching the window and I have put a pan of water under it for more humidity. Hopefully this will help it out.

Thanks again for all of your help. Linda
