It is nice to see a presence from the AOS on a public forum. Outreach is very important and helps break down the barriers to understanding.

The AOS website has been rather erratic over the last few years. How is that progressing and will stability and functionality make this important asset more user friendly?

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome.

I am new to Orchids and sadly live in a very small condo with no outside space and a cat that loves to eat flowers (of all kinds).

I do work at a great place for orchids. The AOS has incredible variety of orchids in the garden and green house. I am trying to learn as much as I can from the staff here.

We have recently redone our website. There is still a lot of work to be done but the foundation has been laid. If you like I can let you know when new features become available.

If you do have a question about the AOS please let me know. If I can't answer it I will pass it on to someone who can. We are here to help support and grow the Orchid community.

A question that keeps coming up is who pays for the "retreats" the AOS Trustees have been taking. Does the AOS pick up the tab or do the Trustees pay their own way? The AOS states that there have been 4 retreats in 2008 in addition to the 2 Trustees Meetings.
