Smile Florida – The Sticky State (Blog Question)

Hello Orchid People,

My father has a large orchid collection. He recently told me he wanted to catalogue and document his plants. I suggested that he should start a photo blog. Since he had no experience with blogs, I set up his account and have updated it for him. You can see it here (Carl's Orchids).

I was wondering if any of you maintain similar pages. I’d love to see your orchids. Also, I would appreciate any suggestions that might improve this project.

-Ely

PS – He has a few orchids that he calls “Home Depots.” I guess these are widely sold and don’t come with a formal name. Is there a way to properly classify them? On the blog, I’ve simply listed them with titles like “Oncidium Hybrid.”

Hi Ross,

Your site looks great. Those itty-bitty orchids are very pretty.

I can barely keep track. No blog here, but I'm trying to inventory all mine as well. I think your terminology for the "Home Depot" orchids is fine. Around here, we call a plant with no ID a Noid. Your term is a little more endearing.

When one of the noids or Home Depots bloom, post a picture here. I'm no good, but lots of people here can ID them.

Oh, and Welcome!
