Hi! I live in the Pacific Northwest and have been involved with orchids for 30 years. Have been a member of the American Orchid Society for most of that time, though I recently allowed my membership to lapse due to the cost. Am a charter member of the Pleurothallid Alliance and have been a member of the North Jersey and Houston Orchid Societies, editor of the Houston Happenings, photographer for the Southwest Regional Judging Center, and have won numerous AOS awards.
My love has always been miniatures and pleurothallids, especially masdevallias. I grew under lights and in a large homemade wardian case for years, but I now only grow a few orchids on a windowsill, due to a number of work-related moves. Am hoping to get a cart with lights and grow a few more that way, but have also become interested in orchids on stamps and coins and antique orchid books (am also a book collector).
