Hi forum!

I am new to orchids. My passion for plants was reignited with carnivorous plants. I am planning several paludariums / terrariums for some of them and decided to add a few miniature orchids to them.

I started by buying the 4 volumes of the Miniature Orchid Species books from Redfern, truly wonderful booksI highly recommend to anybody interested in orchids. Still, I feel that I can learn a lot from you guys, and with so many options it's hard to find the species that is right for you.

Absolutely, and I am not unhappy about that.
I am trying to find some asian miniature orchids for a very warm and humid environment at the moment, many orchids are not suited for that.
Miniature orchids for terrarium

Consider Den. trantuanii. Den bellatulum. Both grow over a range of temperatures, tend to prfer warm. Also Den. venustum, definitely warm.

From South America, Macroclinium manabinum or any other member of the genus, definitely wants warm and humid. Pleurothallis tribuloides, a range of temps but does better warm. Also Pleurothallis pubescens. Most Dichaea need warm and humid.
