Default Aloha from the Montana Rockies.

Thought I might sign up here. Been raising orchids off & on for over 30 years. Just kinda got back into it with a new 12x16 greenhouse. Its an addiction i can't shake. A tropical bubble in Montana.

Tall Trees!

I'll admit I did a double-take when I read "Aloha from Montana!" I would imagine with a greenhouse like that, you WOULD feel like you're in the tropics. Bet that's a real bugger to keep heated in the winter!

.

Yea, last winter was pretty mild but this year's fixn to be cold again.
I try to keep the low around °55-°60 since I have a few warm aroids. Heat pads come in handy.
So far the hot sunny late summers are more challenging. It gets hot under glass. Open up the windows and vents then humidity drops down and gotta mist most of the afternoon.
Winters are more dependent on the price of propane and the power not going out.
Biggest issue by far is the greenhouse is just too small
