Hi, I am also new to growing or trying to grow orchids but I have been successful in the past growing african violets and starting leaves. I probably have started a little fast because I have bought about $500 worth of orchids which are priced between 12.00 to 89.00. I particularly like Dendrobium Nobile type and Cymbidium however i also am enjoying getting some of the more unusual like oncidium twinkle and Bllra. Tropic Splendor

Hi and welcome a board!!! I used to grow AV's too and started new plantlets from leaves. I still have a few and I still love them....just not as much as orchids!

I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing about your plants.
