Default New member saying hi to all members

Hi,

I live in Oak Hill, FL , a small town (not even a red light). About 4 months ago I was bitten by the orchid bug and have been buying phals since then. They're doing well so I'm going to vandas now. I hope to get many good tips from ya'll. Christina

Hi Christina

Wow! I'd never even heard of Oak Hill before! Googled it and found the population in 1990 was 917...now THAT'S what I call a small town!

We'd love to see pics of your phals. Are you growing them outdoors there? You should do really well with vandas.

If you need help with anything, just jump right in. OB is the best community around!

Default i hope you enjoy the orchid board

i just joined today as well. i have already posted several replies to questions i hoped i could help. good luck with your phals. they are my favorites as well, especially the minho princess.

my best advice is READ, READ, READ. and ask many questions. i started before the online craze and killed more than i want to admit. you have much better access to information and it's fun and the people are great.

keep an eye on your wallet. the obsession grows.

Default Warmth please

Hello Christina from MI where it is 11 degrees right now. It's days like these when I'm jealous of all you Floridians.
I look forward to seeing your plants and set-up in future posts.

WELCOME!!! you are in the right place for orchids! By the way, since you are infected by orchiditis, you must know a few things.
1. The disease never goes away, it stays with you forever.
2. Your will-power to refrain from purchasing orchids will slowly diminish.
3. It is only a matter of time before you start saying the proper names of orchids and scaring away your friends and family with the "big words".
4. There is but one cure for the overpowering desire for orchids, the purchase of one, or two, or three, or four, or ten, or eleven, or twenty seven, or...
