Default New to orchids and the forum

Hi Folks,

I am Sue, and I have been growing Phals on my window sill with some success for about 1 year. I live in the mountains of Southern California and am pretty limited to growing indoors in a pretty small living space. I'm hoping to try some orchids other than Phals and also am going to add a light table as soon as I figure out the best way to go about it.
I'm looking forward to doing a lot of lurking and learning from those with experience.

Hi Sue, Glad to have you join us at OB. Everyone here is so helpful. You will be amazed at all you will learn just by browsing, but don't hesitate to ask questions.....post , and just have fun.
Phals are my favorite too. Well, I actually have not found an orchid I didn't love. Except for one someone said smelled like coconut and I can't go there cause I would gobble it up. Yes, "hobby" is the cover word for total addiction!

Default glad you're here

Howdy! I love the orchid board! I have only been a member a few days and already have gained useful insight from several members on my specific orchid dilemmas! Everyone is awesome and way helpful. don't be shy to ask Anything! Someone (usually multiple people) know great solutions.

What do your phals look like in bloom? (striped, solid, color?) How long have you been growing them and what got you hooked?

Glad you're here, have fun. If you love orchids, you will definitely find another addiction: the Orchid Board.

Hi Sue!

Welcome to the OB! So glad you joined!

I am in Southern California also, and if I can help you in anyway please let me know!
There are also many great orchid societies in this area with lots of nice people to meet.
Also post some photos of what you are growing, I know we all enjoy pictures!
