BTW, the username is meant to be tongue-in-cheek; I have been growing plants a while and occasionally revive one for a friend. One of these friends recently said to me "wow, you're like . . . THE ORCHID WHISPERER!!!"

As noted in my first post, my user name was selected as a bit of a joke.

I recently found out that Bruce Rogers has published a book called The Orchid Whisperer. Although no one has asked, suggested, or implied that I should do this, in fairness to Mr. Rogers, I don't want people thinking that I am pretending to be him, so I have asked the administrator to un-register me as "Orchid Whisperer", if possible.

I hope to re-register as a different user after that.

It's possible for an admin to change the username rather than starting again. That way your existing posts move to the new name. Who did you ask MARTY and OSCARMAN are the best to ask. If you have any problems drop me a PM and I'll follow it up for you.
