Default Greetings all the way from New Zealand

Hi there

I am just starting to look into orchids to brighten up my room. Haven't tried them before so should be fun learning (as long as I can keep them happy). Just bought a few miniatures: Mas'd Barleana and Rolfeana and a drac erythrochete.

Any tips would be great.

Welcome!!
I'm new to masdies as well, so can't help much. But if you have specific questions about them, you can post in the masdies section.

Welcome to Orchid Board

My tip for Masdies is to pot them in moss and porous clay. I don't usually use moss but it works great for these, and the clay keeps them cool as water evaporates. Don't let them fully dry out though.

The cooling effect from the pot and not letting them dry out seems to be more important than keeping the humidity up from my experience.

Just be prepared for a learning curve, lol... I've list several masdie's while learning. And I grow almost 100 other orchids with very little issue. Any new orchid genera will always come with its own learning curve though.
