Default G'Day from west victoria, Australia

Hello folks
How are you all today ?
Well i just signed up , and taught i would say hi !
A little about my self ?
New to orchids ! very new !
A friend gave my miss's some dendrobiums and a couple of cyms , last year ! As they slowly started to dry up and looked sad over the next month or so , i took pity , and built a little shade house , and claimed them as my own !
Well low and behold after 9 odd months , the dendrobium has started to flower !
This little event ,has sparked a passion in me ?
So a new and improved shade house is getting constructed ! with the desire to learn and grow orchids !
Thanks for your time
Andree

Hi Andree and welcome to orchid board.

You've come to the right place to learn more about growing orchids. There are people here growing a huge range of genera and everyone is willing to share their experiences.

My passion for orchids started when I realised I could get one of them to bloom again. Once I came here I ended up really hooked

G,day Folks
Thanks for the kind words !
It was a pleasant surprise to be made so welcome
Will try and post a picture of where my shade house construction is at this morning ! this shade house will be clear hard roof , 50% shade cloth top and sides !
Well i think i have attached the picture ?

Going to stick to Den's and Cym's for now !

Need to learn more, before expanding into new species !

It just amaze's me on how many ways people are gorwing orchids ! but now realize that everyones culture is set to their own climate , position , and local weather !

I need to go out and build
Take care folks
Andree

Let me get the hang of these orchid things !
But the Vanda's are beautiful !!!
The roof went up today on shade house ! and built one bench !
All thats left is the clear sheets on roof , two more benches , door , gravel for flooring ! then its orchid shopping time
Hope to be done by mid week !
