Default New kid on the block =)

Hello everyone, im Greg and i am a complete newbie. Though i do i love orchids, i only buythem for my mom and girlfriend. i always get jealous, lol, so im going to start my own collection.
I would to get some good sites, reading, etc. if anyone would like to point me in the right direction.

I do have an RO/DI filter rated at 75gpd. I've heard pure water is the best to use?

Do people make money off propagating orchids?

Aboard Greg, its great to have a new kid on the block and you have come to the right place to learn all you need to learn about orchids. Many of our hobbist grown either indoors, greenhouses, vivs. We here at the OB share in our growing experiences and help one another out in so many ways. Please share you s in your personal gallery and please do not hesitate to ask and answer questions. We all started out the same way, one chid at a time unless your name is Tindo, he buys in three's...

You have heard right, chids love purified water, and with us being in Florida, rain water is like a delicacy. Give me some info on RO/DI filter, is it a watering system? I grow indoors and water one gallon jug at a time for over 75 orchids..the arms-a-given out....

Hi Greg

What a guy!!! Orchids for mom and girlfriend...very nice

RO water is what I used when I first started but I now use rainwater. Anything is better than the tap water here

As for reading, you've already found the best place! Check out the forums, our member articles and blogs and join us in our chats...you'll love them all
The chats usually start around 8pm est each night.

I go back to the RO when we're having one of our dry times. We have a rainbarrel to catch the precious stuff

Seriously, you guys should form you own Orchid Society. The Floridian ORchid Board Society. THere are so many of you. Welcome to the Orchid Board Greg! I once got my then girlfriend some cut dendrobiums, she loved it to say the least, and was even more impressed when I was able to tell what they were.
Do you have RO for other hobbies, or for drinking?
