Hello from Northern Ontario
It looks like a very friendly and knowledgeable place for all us 'chid nuts.
I got into the orchid craze when visiting Florida in Feb, 1999, and it hasn't abated one bit.
We had a sunroom built (well, we were going to build it before, but the orchids just kind of sped it along), and now have erected 2 greenhouses in the basement complete with HPS lights. It has been a very dull winter sunwise. The Vanda house has been up and running since Dec. 31, 2006 (Not long) and then the Catt. house (well, there are others orchids to grow there, too) will be ready within about a week. I won't be able to fit all the orchids in them, but the ones that really need a lot of sun will like it.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you (well maybe not all at once, but through the weeks/months years).

Sounds like a great setup. Welcome aboard. Where in Northern Ontario? I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your setup.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Thanks Ross. After quite a few tries (I'm not very PC savvy), I got my Picturetrail website on line. Will takes pics of the setup downstairs when it's finished.
Maybe later I won't be so shy and will tell where I'm from, but for now, I want to stay incognito, well sort of..

Nice to meet you Carol... to OrchidBoard!
You'll get past that shyness very quickly here...we're all friends and so far, I haven't spoken to one single person that I don't like
We'd all love to hear more about what you're growing and seeing some pics
You have access to your own gallery right here on OB...if you'd like some help getting around, let me know

Ross and Susanne, I've been looking at your awesome pics-great stuff! Also, Susanne, I now know the name (well it has escaped me, but I'll look again) of one of the Broms I bought for DH. You know-the one with the "berries". It's in the fruiting stage right now!
People, did you see my Pic'Trail site? I posted it earlier today. Do you know how I can get it on "gallery"?
Thanks,
cc

Hi Carol! Welcome to the ORchid Board. I know you will soon find this place useful and a joy to visit. I would like to take a look at this website. Are you able to post a link? If all your pics are on your computer, all you have to do is upload them to your gallery here. Either that, or click on you photos at your website and save them to your computer and then upload them to your gallery here on OB. Easy as that.
