Default Guesses for Phrag longifolium hybrid while I search for the tag?

I know longifolium is one parent, but I've forgotten the other and haven't found the original tag yet.

Would you say besseae, or do you see other possibilities?
I'm talking to you, Brian. And all the rest of you Phrag growers.

Hey I missed this. Did you figure out what it was?

The two primary possibilities would be P. Eric Young or P. Nicholle Tower (using dalessandroi), that is if you're certain it's a primary hybrid and you know P. longifolium is one of the parents. There's also a chance it could be Phragmipedium Hautlieu (Phrag. Jersey x longifolium), but that's a bit of a can of worms, so...

Differentiating Eric Young from Nicholle Tower would be tough to do without a tag since bessaea and dalessandroi are so similar to one another and their hybrids can be virtually indistinguishable. Generally speaking the dalessandroi influence, if this is Nicholle Tower, tends to produce slightly smaller flowers and spikes with a propensity towards heavy branching, whereas Eric Young will tend to produce larger, fuller flowers and less profuse branching (if any branching at all). However, these are not set in stone.

Just looking at your photo, I wouldn't be certain of the ID. P. Eric Young is the more common of the two hybrids, but that might only be due to the fact that dalessandroi was considered a variety of bessaea until somewhat recently, so before the split, all of these plants were considered Eric Young.
