Please identify these two orchids Male
Question Please identify these two orchids

Hello everyone,

New member to this forum. I'm from Central Florida and grow mainly Vandaceous and phals in addition to a few catts (30 odd plants). Trying to increase my collection but don't have the space to put them all!.

I've had the attached two for a number of years now but have lost the tags on both. The orange one is a Renanthera, but not sure if its a hybrid or species. The other little one: i have no idea. Please identify.

Wonder if the first one is a Holcoglossum. I would not begin to guess which one, if even it is that. Or maybe Papilionanthe? How tall is the plant? (A picture of the whole plant might make the genus easier to guess, someone may be able to spot the species, not me) Someone a whole lot more knowledgeable than myself will have to weigh in on the Renanthera.

By the way, welcome to the Forum!

The one with terete foliage looks like it is in the genus Luisia. That's a group I'm not super familiar with so I'll leave the species identification up to someone more knowledgeable than myself, however it's probably closely related to Luisia filiformis .

The orange one is a Vanda intergeneric hybrid. To me it looks like a cross between the genera formerly known as Neofinetia with either Ascocentrum or Renanthera (or both). For instance, it could be Renanetia Sunrise.

Yesss, i looked up the link you provided and it is indeed Luisia filiformis. I have no recollection of where or when i purchased it (must have been an impulse purchase at an orchid show!! ) but its a nice sized specimen now!. Thank you much MrHappyRotter.

The other is definitely Renanetia Sunrise following an extensive google image search.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me here. Hope to learn more on orchids and someday get one (or more!) of my plants awarded at an AOS judging event

Orange is definitely Vanda (formerly Renanetia) Sunrise, and probably the 'Prasong' clone.
