Default Trader Joe’s mystery fragrant ???

Picked this up at TJ’s tonight!

Lovely orange blossom scent with a hint of decomposing oranges. Reminded me of running around our orange trees as a kid in SoCal.

Anyway, the scent was very light and orange blossomy. When I got it home, it became more robust!

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

I don't know which hybrid this might be. There are so many similar ones it's hard to tell them apart without a tag.

But maybe you can talk to the flower manager at the TJ, who might be able to put you in touch with the grower. With a photo they might be able to give you the correct name. This has worked for other people here on Orchid Board.

Hello and thank you, estación seca! That's a great idea! Thank you for passing that info onto me!

It looks somewhat like a Oncidium Sharry Baby "Tricolor" with a washed out pink/magenta color?? Does that happen? The scent is changing in the hours I've had it in my possession. Still very orange blossomy though! <3

Thanks again for the advice and welcome (I'm still really new to this and am a bit intimidated/want to make sure I'm making my orchid friends happy... and not dead.)

Flowers may vary in appearance with varying conditions like light and temperature. This is another reason why it's not usually possible to put a name on a no ID plant.

Welcome aboard & nice buy there.
It looks a little similar to an Oncostele catatante
I once had.

Welcome to the Orchid Board! I'm no help with identification, but that is a very nice find, and I sure do wish we could all share in the fragrance!

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone! I ended up going back to TJ's and asking them if they knew what they ordered or had a stock list that would have the names on them. No luck, unfortunately.

If anyone has any guesses, feel free to share. I'm just really curious!

I also may have gotten two more noID fragrants. The magenta one kind smells like artificial cherry scent and crayon wax and is rather strong. The burgundy and white one smells of a delicate vanilla. So neat! Also, super gorgeous <3

Here they are if anyone wanted to see the blossoms.

Welcome! We love pictures but, I don't see any. Good shopping though.
