I finally made it to Trader Joe's. I was in Fort Worth for something else, and the closest TJ's to me is in Fort Worth so I decided to stop and check it out. It's a cool store..They have lots of delicious stuff that I didn't know I needed until I saw it.

The orchid selection was disappointing. They only had one orchid and it was a Miltoniopsis that didn't look like it was in the best shape. They did however have a great selection of bromeliads. I picked up a really nice one. It's no orchid, but it's a very nice plant all the same. it had a color pattern I'd never seen before. I bought it, and I'm enjoying it very much. It's a good companion plant for my orchids.

I'll try again sometime in the future. Maybe they usually have a lot of orchids, and they were just running low because a new shipment was about to come in. But anyway, i really liked the store, and I got a nice bromeliad out of it, so I'm satisfied with my first trip to TJ's.

Ooh, I missed those. I guess I'll have to go back. Fort Worth is only about 30 minutes from me, and that's not bad, since you can hardly get anywhere in DFW in less than 30 minutes anyway lol

They're in one of the center aisles on the shelves over the freezer section, near the other candy. They also sell really good chocolate covered raspberry and orange gels in a plastic tub that's great for raising humidity around an individual tiny orchid in a 2"/5cm pot.

And a monstrous variety of cheeses from around the world. Also, if you like wine, their house brand Vintjs is always an excellent value for a good bottle.

You guys are so lucky. It would be great to have a shop selling orchids where you could just randomly treat yourself to something which isn’t a mass produced phal.

They are very lucky, can you imagine going into Bunnings and finding something other than Cyms and Phals (sigh)
