Has anyone heard Dendrobium Speciosum Windsor?

I am searching but no much info on net. I was told it's yellow. Has anyone heard about it? please share some info.

Dendrobium speciosum can have yellow flowers. There could be a cultivar called 'Windsor' but I don't know.

There are 176 awards given to Den. speciosum, but none to a cultivar named 'Winston.' The closest I found in Orchid Wiz was 'Winsome #2.'

I would suggest that Windsor is a cultivar name

Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids creates hybrids with several cultivars of Dendrobium speciosum, including D. speciosum var. speciosum 'Windermere' HCC/AOC. It has yellow flowers. You can see a photo on his Web site.

Dendrobium speciosum has a wide range over eastern Australia, and it is often yellow. D. spec. "Windsor" is most likely a cultivar or clone. Windsor Is a town near Sydney, so it could have some relation to that?
Anyway, if you want a yellow speciosum you shouldn't have any trouble getting one.

There usually isn't much info about speciosum cultivars because they quite often aren't registered or aren't common.

Also, there are many naturally occuring (named) varieties and there are also many hybrids between them, so "Windsor" could be a hybrid, too

Speciosum is a "species." Could you be thinking of a cross of Dend. Speciosum, and another Dendrobium called 'windsor'? Usually with species, they have their species names if "normal" and some discriptive if not IE Cattlelya walkeriana coerulea (blue walkeriana). Paphiopedilum delanatii vinicolor (dark red delanatii).

I just posted early that I got a Phrag. Conchiferum 'Waunakee,' and a phrag. Richteri 'Rands.' These are both species Phrags, and do not really have these names. The person who sold them to me was a well known breeder, and these were divisions of some of his excellent breeding plants. The names were only for his own green house. Conchiferum came from another grower in 'Waunakee,' (Wisconsin, USA) and Rands came from another grower named Rands. The names were used so he would not mix up one similar type with these others from different locations. I'm thinking that your Speciosum must have come from "Windsor' for some reason, and it was a name given by the grower or person who used it in breeding.

Well, it is a guess, but it happened to me!
