Smile Orchid Idenification

I have an orchid that has a label, but I don't know what the letters stand for:
WTDM Summer Fantasy x Onc. leuchochilum

The Oncidium I get but what is WTDM?
It's growth looks like an Onc. it is about 10" tall

I have been unable to find out what WTDM is on the web.

Your help would be appreciated

It probably should be Mtdm (Miltonidium) but they are just called Oncidium now. And your cross has a registered hybrid name. It is Oncidium Chocolate Sundae, registered in 1986!

I agree. The plant is Oncidium Chocolate Sundae in current registration, Oncidium (formerly Miltonidium, Mtdm) Summer Fantasy x Oncidium leucochilum. It would have been Miltonidium Chocolate Sundae when it was registered in 1986.

Oncidium Summer Fantasy is Onc. El Vulcan Barru x Onc. fuscatum. Onc. fuscatum used to be Miltonia warscewiczii, hence the Mtdm which became WTDM on your tag.

I can't find a picture, but the flower will probably closely resemble Onc. leucochilum, though could have more yellow or pink colors in the lip than the mostly white of leucochilum.

Thanks a lot, I don't know where you all find that sort of information. I tried. I will make it a new label. It has to be repotted so a new pot, medium and label, it won't know what to do with it's self, hopefully bloom for me next year. Thanks again

I use OrchidWiz which is a program you can buy. You can check for registered names at the RHS Orchid registry: The International Orchid Register / RHS Gardening

If you are re-potting, it is best to wait until new root growth has started. Some bi-foliate Catts can really suffer if re-potted at the wrong time. If the roots are in trouble because of very bad media it is best to pot right away tho.
