Please identify this Brassavola

Can anyone confirm this species? Is it Brassavola Acaulis?

No it is not.

Notice the tubelike base of the lip on the flower and the veinings of your flower lip as opposed to the linear stripes in the IOSPE photo.

Based on the leaves I'm seeing in the background...I would also say it's not acaulis. B acaulis has long, pendant leaves that are fatter than many of the other pendant brassavolas. It's also touchier to grow ...I know this from experience.

Are you sure it's a species...or could it be a hybrid?

There has been some confusion w/in the genus and w/out the original grower/vendor giving you an ID...it will likely be very hard to put anything more than Brassavola to your plant.

This also is a difficult plant to grow. It took 18 months to flower. My other Brassavolas are profuse bloomers.

Attached is a second pic showing the leaves. The seller wasn't sure, just said it was a species. It looks to me to be a slightly oversized Nodosa.

Yep. . . that's it. It's a Brassavola Venosa.
